The development and functioning of the upper respiratory tract with a special focus on the larynx and vocal cords.
Apnea and upper airway obstruction in children and infants.
The connection between respiratory problems and Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (also referred to as SIDS or crib death).
Factors contributing to the phenomenon of fluid in the ears of infants and children – secretory otitis media.

Dr. Shatz has published many scientific works in prestigious professional journals and has been invited to contribute chapters in books.
Dr. Shatz is frequently invited to lecture at major international conferences and to lead and serve on scientific committees of numerous international scientific conferences.
Chairperson of the First International Conference on the Prevention of Sudden Death and Apnea in Infants, held in Israel in 1999.
Reviewer for various prestigious international scientific journals in the field of ENT.
